Suburban in its quest to deliver innovative technology and quality services to its customers has successfully integrated its MPLS network with that of PCCW Global, creating a global network connectivity reach with a West African foot print. This integration was implemented at one of the major collocation facilities in the United Kingdom where both carriers have a point of presence.
According to PCCW Global’s Executive Director for Africa, Mr. Yossi Barkan, “This new partnership is a win-win situation for both companies and the West African market as a whole. Both organizations are now able to offer fiber based MPLS based IP VPN services to multinational customers that have branch networks that extend into West Africa.”
The MPLS based IP VPN service is primarily aimed at multinational organizations with connectivity requirements across the globe and is more cost effective than international private lines, while offering the same level of data security. MPLS also offers customers more intelligent traffic routing and prioritization and enables them set different parameters for the different types of traffic (voice, data or video) they carry on their networks.
The Chief Technical Officer of Suburban, Mr. Anil Verma also stated that with the company’s new fibre optic based Global MPLS reach, the company has positioned itself to launch a variety of value added products and services to its customers, as well as improve the quality of West African connectivity to the rest of the world. |
